The temporary anti-dumping duty rates range from 31.58% to 33.57% for Japanese companies and from 28.16% to 33.1% for Chinese companies. Thus, the country ranks 18th in the WorldSteel Association’s global ranking of steel-producing countries (70). Compared to the previous month, smelting volumes increased by 12.5%. Total steel imports for the month fell by 0.6% m/m According to data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US steelmakers increased their imports of rolled steel by 1.3% month-on-month – to 1.68 million tonnes in July 2025. Total steel imports (rolled products and semi-finished products) for the month fell by 0.6% m/m – to 2.24 million tons. The largest volume of imports was accounted for by products for the oil industry – 172,150 tons (+16.6% month-on-month), hot-dip galvanized rolled products – 154,480 tons (+5.6% month-on-month), tinplate – 136.38 thousand tons (+25.2% m/m), cold-rolled coil – 135.13 thousand tons (+10.7% m/m). Steel production in 70 producing countries amounted to 150.1 million tons for the month Global steel production in July 2025 fell by 1.3% compared to the same month in 2024, to 150.1 million tons. Compared to the previous month, the figure decreased by 0.8%. This is evidenced by the global ranking of steel-producing countries (70) by the World Steel Association. Total steel production in the CIS countries + Ukraine decreased by 5.1% y/y for the month and remained at the June level of 6.7 million tons, in particular in Ukraine, it decreased by 18.1% y/y and 6.6% m/m, to 580.5 thousand tons.
